The race starts at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and heads out on the rural roads towards East Harptree in the shadow of the Mendip Hills. The challenge then comes in the climb to the village of Hinton Blewitt up the now infamous HILL where your energies will be rewarded with wide views over the Chew Valley – and maybe some jelly babies. The final stretch drops you back into Bishop Sutton where the crowds will cheer you across the finish tape – concluding back at the Hall for the prize giving ceremonies.
The course is confirmed and measured by those people in suits and trainers at United Kingdom Athletics, they gave us an official licence [no2022-42519 should you need it]. With the additional support of DB Max, the event uses chip timing, those bleeping mat things, and results are made available online within minutes of you stumbling over the line.
So, where do you run? Well, to help in planning your race day strategy – you have one don’t you? – we have arranged a preview of the route in the form a this snazzy looking map.
