Debbie Fortune Estate Agents (www.debbiefortune.co.uk) is expanding its fund raising and support of local charities in 2014 and is delighted to be the main sponsors of the well-run and supported Chew Valley 10k event, which raises funds for Bishop Sutton Primary School and other local charities. Entry to this year’s event on Sunday 22 June at 9.30am is now open at www.chewvalley10k.co.uk and is already proving popular.
Debbie said “Our Business is expanding into the Chew Valley, mainly through recommendation, so we see this as an opportunity to not only create a stronger Debbie Fortune presence but also to implement our philosophy of supporting local charities. We were very impressed with the enthusiasm of the 10k organisers and the professional way the event is run so we wanted to be part of it.”
Race Director Ann Booker commented: “We are delighted to have Debbie Fortune on board as our main sponsor and with their support we hope this year’s Chew Valley 10k event will be as successful as it was last year.”
Nearly 100 runners have entered the 2014 Chew Valley 10k so far this year, so for anyone thinking about it now is definitely the time to commit and get into training! To enter, visit www.chewvalley10k.co.uk, where entry costs £14 for adults (or £12 for runners affiliated to a UK Athletics club). This year the event will accept up to 600 runners and up to 250 children will also be able to compete in the 1km Fun Run, with entry forms available nearer the time.
The Chew Valley 10k organisers are now seeking 90 volunteers who would be interested in being a marshal for the event. This is a vital part of the event and a really fun job as well. Marshals are there to show runners the route, to be on hand in case of accidents but most importantly to encourage and cheer on the runners as they go by! There is a full marshal briefing at the event so no experience is necessary. Anyone interested in helping out or who would like further information should contact the organisers on firstname.lastname@example.org.
